The Farm to Plate Initiative and Economic Development
Chris led the development of the Farm to Plate Initiative, which adds $500 million a year and 2,500 new jobs by producing more of our own food locally. It’s the largest economic development effort to come out of Montpelier in recent years.

Chris sponsored 85 bills and was the lead author of 15. Ten are now Vermont law! He is one of the body’s most productive lawmakers, because he works effectively with the House, Senate, and Administration to get things done.
Honors
Chris received the Council of State Government’s highest award for leadership, a Toll Fellowship, based on a bi-partisan nomination by Governor James Douglas, Senator Bill Doyle, and former Democratic Majority Leader Carolyn Partridge. Chris’s colleagues also overwhelmingly elected him a UVM Trustee.

Chris has worked as a project manager and developer at IBM, National Life, Intel, and Apple Computer. He founded Common Ground Communications. Chris is a strategic planner who knows how to lead teams of people to get the job done on time and on budget.
